Outcome
Concept to production-ready mobile experience.
The challenge
The founding team had a strong thesis about local discovery but no product definition. The category is crowded, and a generic listings app would have been indistinguishable from what already existed.
The product
A marketplace where the first screen is a point of view, not a search box. Trust signals, local context, and recommendation surfaces are part of the core object model rather than features added later.
Approach
Strategy
Narrowed the first release to one city and one buyer motivation.
Design
Built the visual language around photography, place, and people.
Engineering
React Native client on a typed API with a recommendation service.
Launch
Store submission, instrumentation, and a staged local rollout.
Capabilities
Discovery feed
Local, seasonal, and behavioural signals combined into one feed.
Trust layer
Verification, reviews, and dispute handling designed in from day one.
Seller tools
Listing, messaging, and payouts in a single mobile flow.
Offline resilience
The app stays usable on poor connections.
